Red Book – Police & Your Basic Rights

Red Book

As Malaysians, how many of us actually know about our human rights when dealing with our Royal Malaysia Police. Do you know that blue police authority card indicates the officer rank of inspector and above, and red colour is a suspended officer which has no authority to do anything to you? Or do you know that if you are under arrest, the arresting police officer must immediately bring you to the nearest police station and no other place. No doubt many of us would not be aware of the procedures and other information.

Red Book or Buku Merah is self-funded book produced by a group of dedicated lawyers known as TANGKAP recently at Bar Council Auditorium. This book provides valuable information about Malaysian human rights when faced with the Royal Malaysia Police. Read more news about the Red Book launching or you can download the Red Book here from The Malaysian Bar.
