Weekend in Semporna
A weekend in Semporna town will definitely give you an insight of the people’s interesting life here. A lot of youngsters and kids like to gather at the seaside near Semporna Ocean Tourism Centre in the evening.
Droves of people will come and swim at the seaside, forget about swimsuit, they will just dive into the water with their clothes on and have a whale of time.
Those with more adventurous blood will even do some somersaults near the bridge, come out from the water and repeat the marvelous feast again. Their skills, boldness and the sight of it will definitely catch your attention.
Apart from fun and merry time the people have here, noticed there are actually people who are living on the boat! Probably this is what they called the ‘orang laut’ who stay and live in the boat. Their livelihood is depending on the sea harvest, fish, dried fish, and etc.
Comes night, another interesting sight to be catch is at the Jetty in front of Seafest Hotel. A lot of kids will gather there and do some break dance around.
Truly one can experience the interesting and amazing life in semporna!

Hi Socrates,
You can take flights from KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport) to Kota Kinabalu International Airport. (www.malaysiaairlines.com.my or www.airasia.com) Then from there transit to Tawau, once arrived at Tawau airport, it will takes around 1 hour - 1 hour 15 minutes to reach Semporna town. Semporna it’s also a getaway town to the famous Sipadan Island and many other islands.
